The Women’s Humane Society is America’s first animal shelter, founded in 1869. The society provides medical care, cruelty prevention and shelter services to animals in the greater Delaware Valley area. For current pet owners, they provide sick and wellness programs, as well as spaying or neutering, and their adoption program seeks out lifelong homes for unwanted or homeless animals.
The Northwestern Youth Athletic Association provides educational athletic opportunities for students in grade K-12 in the Northwestern Lehigh School District in Pennsylvania. The program teaches students sportsmanship, leadership, discipline and respect, in addition to providing a drug and alcohol-free environment.
Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation for Childhood Cancer was created in honor of Alexandra Scott, who lost her battle with cancer at the age of 8. But she died having raised more than $1 million to help find a cure for childhood cancer — now, through the foundation, people around the country continue to fight for her cause.
